Damask Roses

The family of fragrance. damasks are tall shrubs, often thorny. Spring flowering. Foliage is outstanding, greyish-green with elongated leaves. Blooms generally pastel pink.

Damascena Bifera - ancient pre 1633

Quatre Saisons, Autumn Damask. Silvery-pink blowsy blooms. Flower in early summer and repeat in autumn. Highly scented. Doesn't like shade. 1.2m. Out of stock for 2012.

Duc de Cambridge-1848

Deep rose-purple flattish blooms. Darkest of all the damasks. A star of the garden. Tall arching shrub, most spectacular, hugely fragrant. 1.2m. Out of stock for 2012.

Gloire de Guilan - old

An excellent rose. Large sprawling shrub with good foliage. Clear pink flat quartered blooms. Rich fragrance. 1.8m.

Ispahan - pre 1832

Double light pink flowers are very fragrant. Has a longer flowering period than most damasks. Tolerant of poor soil. 1.2m.

York and Lancaster - pre 1551

Damascena Versicolor Tall sprawling shrub, blooms can be both pink and white, sometimes on the same bloom. 1.5m. Out of stock for 2012.
