Rugosa rose. Large fragrant single magenta blooms followed by clusters of bright red rose hips high in vitamin C - the size of cherry tomatoes. It forms an arching shrub. Grows to 1.5m In autumn the foliage turns yellow and orange. One of the best to grow if you wish to make rose hip jelly or rose hip syrup. The stems are very prickly typical of rugosa roses.
