Permaculture 'pop-up' Hui - ANZAC weekend get-together
We are running a ‘pop-up’ replacement for the Permaculture Hui in Whanganui which has had to be postponed. This is not a full-scale hui, rather a chance to relax, talk, eat, debate and sit around fires with old and new permaculture buddies. There will be ‘open space’ workshops, quick-fire ‘tips and tricks’ sessions, perhaps a few local off-site visits and some fun and recreation. Bring your ideas, autumn surplus and pitch-in to make this a great gathering.
Our certified organic property in Otaki can easily host 50 folk with a hall, toilets/showers, car and camper-van parking, lots of tent space, and catering capabilities. Oh and a lot of pears!
Cost: $100 for three days, with food and camping included. Aiming for it to be a non-profit / non-loss event. Any accidental profit will go to future permaculture events. Contact us if you have a lot of produce you can bring and we can discuss refunding part of your registration.
Hosts and venue: Jenny-Kaye Potaka and Pete Davis have a long history in permaculture, organics and green living. Trinity Farm, Otaki is a 4 ha in-transition organic (OFNZ) farm, 2 km from SH1. Easy access via public transport and hitching. The property has an old pear orchard that is being revived, nascent food forest, a heritage rose nursery, and some long established heritage rose gardens.
Helping out: This will be hands-on collaborative event. While we will be putting a lot of effort in to make this happen we will need others to chip in to make it work well, particularly with catering. If anyone wants to come for a few days before and/or stay for a few days after and have practical skills/energy they can contribute then you will be welcomed, fed and housed (and hugged). We could also do with help setting up some extra toilets/showers, a fire pit, and general site prep.
Notes: This is not an official PINZ get-together nor a course. Space will be limited and we hope most folk will attend the full weekend.
After registering you will be sent a link to a form so you can let us know more about what you want from and can offer to the event.
