            Tea Roses

This family was in its heyday in the late 19th century. The name describes the characteristic fragrance often reminiscent of the finest china tea. Recurrent and healthy, they don't need a lot of pruning. Great foliage and style. The best most floriferous, fragrant and charming family.

Anna Olivier -1872

Large full blooms of blended flesh pink change to a shaded salmon with a rose coloured reverse. Delicate tea scent. Good cut flower. Prefers full sun. 90cm.

Archiduc Joseph - 1872

Outstanding old tea rose. Flat many-petalled blooms of pink and russet. Free-flowering and very fragrant. Tolerant of poor soil. A personal favourite. 1.5m. Out of stock for 2012.

Catherine Mermet - 1869

Semi double, lilac pink flowers. Likes a sunny warm position. Delicate tea scent. 1.2m

Dr Grill - 1886

Pink flowers overlaid with a rich cream. Fragrant. Prefers full sun. 1m.

General Gallieni - 1899

Very free and long flowering from spring through to winter. Strawberry-red, blooms overlaid with hints of buff, copper and pink. Colour changes depending on the weather and its situation in sun or shade. Strong tea fragrance. A personal favourite. 1.2m.

General Schablikine 1878

Plum coloured shoots, blue green foliage. Fat buds open to copper-pink fragrant blooms with hints of cherry, flat and quartered. Long flowering. Likes sun. 1m.

Mme Berkley - 1898

Salmon-pink muddled blooms mixed with cerise and gold, very free-flowering. Vigorous, recurrent, fragrant. Prefers full sun. 90cm. Out of stock for 2012.
